Justice Firings Probed

Michigan Representative John Conyers, quite possibly the most inept and partisan member of Michigan’s congressional delegation, joined today with Nancy Pelosi– arguably the most unpopular and inept Speaker of the House in U.S. history– in suing the Bush administration.

The suit was filed in the hope of forcing former White House counsel, Harriet Miers, and current White House Chief of Staff, Joshua Bolten, to testify before the House Judiciary committee as it continues it’s investigation into the firing of 9 U.S Attorneys in 2006.

Where were these waterheads when the Clinton administration fired ALL 93 U.S. Attorneys in March of 1993?

Millions of taxpayer dollars have already been wasted on this latest useless democrat political witch hunt. Now it seems many more will be spent to no effect, other than helping Conyers and Pelosi a little further along this partisan rabbit trail.

I may be just a Fireman with an attitude and an opinion, but it is an opinion built upon a lifetime of “learning things,” not one spent under the harsh lights of left wing indoctrination that passes for “education” on most of today’s college campuses.

Millions of taxpayer dollars could be saved right now, merely by having Pelosi and Conyers read one simple statement:

“U.S. ATTORNEYS SERVE AT THE PLEASURE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”

Simply put: The President can fire ANY U.S. Attorney, at ANY time, for ANY reason. He does not need congressional approval of his action. Picking your nose in a staff meeting? Gone. Passing gas in the hallway? Gone. Failing to stand on your head and whistle “Dixie” when the President walks into the room? Gone. And there is NO recourse.

A cursory view of any elementary school Civics book would go a long way towards clearing up Conyers’ and Pelosi’s willful misunderstanding of the terms “oversight” and “separation of powers.”
