F.B.I. Closing in on Whitey?
Fox News.com carried a story yesterday about fugitive Boston crime boss, and last of the great Irish American gangsters, James “Whitey” Bulger. The report stated that the F.B.I., after 12 years, may finally be closing in on Whitey.
The movie “The Departed” is loosely based on Bulger and after seeing it back in February, I wrote a short post and offered some informational links for anyone interested in a fascinating back-story.
You can check out the Fox story here.

From the looks of his last sighting in Taormina, Sicily with Catherine Greig, I would say that Whitey Bulger is visiting the battle locations traveled and captured by U.S. General George Patton Jr. in World War II.
It would probably be a good idea for INTERPOL or the FBI to start looking around the Rhine near Nierstein, where Patton urinated in Rhine on March 24, 1945. Between Whitey’s sick sense of humor and his love for Patton’s military mind, he’s probably making his last homage with a trip around Europe.
Patton was buried at the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial in Hamm, Luxembourg along with other members of the Third Army. Perhaps showing his photo to people around the area there would provide a tip or two?

Great line of thinking. I am a huge fan of Patton, but the logic never crossed my mind.

The FBI has increased Bulger’s reward to a whopping $2 million.
