Yes, if we can offer constructive solutions and not continue to do nothing more than throw money at problems money can’t solve. I think Henry, once again, hits a home run in explaining many peoples attitude toward Africa and it’s problems (With apologies to Chad and everyone from Triathletes For Africa, they really are doing something constructive).

  1. Scolai,

The vid won’t play, but I can guess what Ol’ Hank is saying. Its true that Africa’s problems are the sort that can’t be solved by piles of cash. The governmental corruption surrounding already existing piles of cash are at the root of some of Africa’s issues. Religion and warlords willing to employ genocide to eliminate others with opposing beliefs can’t be solved by cash. It’s a heartbreaking dilema – the wrong response however is not staying informed because you’re comfortable in your own “American dream”. Another “wrong” response is knowing that there are injustices and simply turning your back on them. Mr. Scolai is guilty of neither it seems. Thanks bro.

Thanks for the TFA plug. We’re doing the only thing we know to do at this point. The smile that a simple pair of shoes can create might be just a small bright spot in someone’s day, week, month, or year.
