“Just a Good Guy…With a Few Bad Habits”

Drew Cline

I have been meaning to sit down and talk about this guy since we got back from the cattle drive (yes, that story is still coming). My kids are out of school for the summer, so between that and summer yard work and everything else in my life, expect a few short posts here and there.

Drew Cline was on the cattle drive with us. He is the lead singer of a prominent Contemporary Christian band and has a wonderful heart for worship. I had never heard him sing and he was reluctant to do so around the campfire. That’s another great thing about Drew, with all his success and talent, he remains very humble.

Well on the next to last night of the drive, after some serious arm twisting from Pastor Jamie George, Drew agreed to sing. Saying he sang is an understatement. He forevermore brought the house down! He chose to sing an old spiritual “Were You There” and did so accapella. I think it was probably the greatest musical moment I have ever experienced.

Later, I asked him why he had chosen that particular song. He said: “Because I could present the entire gospel in three verses.” He succeeded.

You can learn more about Drew and his music here.
