Pelosi vs. Cheney

This is how a Speaker of the House handles a problem?

No, that’s not the Speaker of the House, but I’m sure her make up looked this way when she heard the Vice President’s comments. Nancy Pelosi, instead of showing that a woman can take the rough and tumble of a leadership position in National politics, ran crying to President Bush. In her own unique sniveling style, she whined once again that her Patriotism was being questioned.

How do you question something that doesn’t exist?

Just what mean spirited, nasty thing did Dick Cheney say about Speaker Pelosi and John Murtha?

“I think if we were to do what Speaker Pelosi and Congressman Murtha are suggesting, all we will do is validate the Al Qaeda strategy,” the vice president told ABC News. “The Al Qaeda strategy is to break the will of the American people … try to persuade us to throw in the towel and come home, and then they win because we quit.”

And how did Speaker Pelosi choose to attempt to defend her actions and those of Congressman Murtha in the face of the truth spoken by Vice President Cheney? She stated the following:

“And you know what I’m going to do? I’m going to call the president and tell him I disapprove of what the vice president said…”

“I’m gonna tell, I’m gonna tell.” Sounds more like my sister catching me stealing some of my Dad’s beer when we were kids, than it does a mature reaction to a political opponent who has just brilliantly articulated YOUR position. Speaker Pelosi and Congressman Murtha have both advocated an immediate pullout from Iraq . Absent the authority to execute an expeditious “Cut and Run pattern,” they seek to withhold reinforcements, and funding for troops in the field. And yet, they still claim to “support our troops.”

Why, when America leads the way in giving opportunities to all of its citizens, haven’t we been able to produce a Golda Meir, or a Margaret Thatcher? I have no problem with women in leadership roles, but I wish we would elect one with the brass ovaries to stand strong when the situation calls for bold action. We always seem to get stuck with shrill “don’t criticize me, I’m a girl” types like Pelosi, Hillary, Granholm (in Michigan ), Landrieu, and Boxer to name a few.

Pelosi is nothing more than an opportunistic political snake. If she had the brass ovaries sported by Ms. Meir and The Iron Lady, she would be secure enough in her positions to not have to run to someone’s boss every time her feelings got hurt. She has articulated one cowardly opinion after another, the Vice President just told the truth on her.
